Safety And Security

Under NSW Workplace Health and Safety legislation, the Cuboree site is considered a workplace, the volunteers running our event are considered workers and Scouts Australia NSW is considered and PCBU (Person Conducting Business or Undertaking).

We prepare extensive risk assessments at an organisational level and for each activity of the event. We also have major emergency plans in place that are discussed, agreed and approved with the local Emergency Planning Authorities. These include:
- Fire and evacuation plan
- Health plan
- Food Safety plan
- Security plan

27 December 2019, 28 December 2019, 29 December 2019, 10 January 2020 and 11 January 2020 are considered High Risk activity days. There is major movement of plant on site. Therefore, the site is considered a Work Zone and access is limited to those who have been inducted. Under 16s are not permitted on site on these days.

Contractors working on behalf of Cuboree will be required to provide details of their activities, including:
- Risk assessments or Safe Work Method Statements pertaining to their activities
- Permits and licences for the activity being undertaking (e.g. fork operating licences)
- Safety plans and certifications (e.g. Food handling, scaffolding permits and tags, etc.)
